Enquiry Teaching and Learning^TM

Our lessons are conducted through the Enquiry Teaching and Learning™ approach, where children explore the various perspectives and outcomes to a question.

By encouraging your child to ask questions that lead to enquiry explorations, we are able to stimulate his/her curiosity about the topics being discussed.

As this exploration process takes place, our teachers observe the interests of the children under their care. They then plan lessons and activities involving the S.M.I.L.E.S.™ elements to develop each child holistically.

Our specialist performing arts teachers are also trained to conduct lessons using our Enquiry Teaching and Learning™ approach. Each specialist works with both English and Chinese teachers to deliver lessons that are integrated with the performing arts.

Core Modules

Our core programmes provide a strong foundation for your child during the early years, moulding him/her into a young Champion set to excel in school and ready to take on the working world of the future.

The Love for Chinese Language

This programme develops and enhances your child’s Chinese language communication skills, particularly in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Your child will be exposed to drama, games, rhymes, songs and dances to deepen his/her understanding of the elements of the Chinese language.

With practice and encouragement, your child will be empowered to communicate confidently in Chinese in his/her daily life.

Enquiry Teaching and Learning™

Enquiry Teaching and Learning™ is a unique approach developed by MindChamps PreSchool that encourages children to be curious about topics and ask questions that lead to enquiry explorations.

Teachers will pose questions and build on children’s responses by asking further enquiry questions. Upon observing the children’s interests, teachers will then plan lessons that allow children to explore new ideas and develop logical thinking.

Teachers will also make sure that lessons incorporate the S.M.I.L.E.S.™ elements and meet the interests and learning needs of different children.

Numeracy Strategies™

Our Numeracy Strategies™ module focuses on helping your child gain an understanding of numerical concepts and build a solid foundation in Maths.

Your child will be introduced to mathematical concepts through physical grouping and counting exercises, musical pre-numeracy activities as well as experiments with various money denominations.

Specialist &

Enrichment Modules

Our specialist & enrichment modules will expose your child to 3 performing arts disciplines, as well as integrate and reinforce the learning outcomes from our core modules. These modules are conducted as part of our curriculum every week.

MindChamps Reading and Writing™ (Natural Literacy™)

Developed by a team of early literacy experts, this module builds your child’s literacy skills through a selection of fun and interactive activities. Each activity is designed to keep your child engaged in reading and writing.

Preschoolers in Playgroup and Nursery 1 will first be introduced to basic literacy skills. In Nursery 2, they progress to key skills like phonemic and phonological awareness through our unique “Say and Sing” approach.

Voice & Drama

Developed in collaboration with Dean Carey, our Dean of Theatre, each lesson in our Drama module is grounded in three pillars: Confidence, Creativity and Collaboration.

Through basic actor training, your child will develop his/her imagination, communication skills and self-confidence – all while experiencing the power of the spoken word.

This module covers foundational acting techniques, storytelling and improvisation, as well as experiences of empathy, understanding and positive reinforcement. Your child will learn to express himself/herself through a variety of activities, including original stories from our in-house library collection.

Movement & Dance

There are many benefits to an early exposure to dance – it provides physical training that develops stamina, flexibility and physical strength. Dance is also a shared experience that requires teamwork and discipline, and which creates a physical “language” of expression using the body within a given space.

We will bring these benefits to your child through dedicated dance lessons, which include both group and individual work.

Most types of dance are performed to 8-beat music, which will help to reinforce your child’s grasp of basic numeracy concepts such as patterning, sequencing and counting. The repetitive nature of dance also allows your child to acquire skills like coordination and memory at his/her own pace.

Our goal is not to shape your child into a star performer. Instead, we work on developing your child’s creativity, confidence and perseverance through dance, empowering him/her to make a difference in the dynamic world of tomorrow.

MindChamps Music™– now Patented in 4 Major Territories

MindChamps Music has achieved a historic first by attaining patent status across four territories – the US (Patent No: 11,790,800), UK (Patent No: GB2607416), Australia (Patent No: 2022202096), and Singapore (Patent No. 10202113952V)

This breakthrough programme draws on fundamental concepts shared between five literacies: Numerical, Language, Social, Emotional and Musical, and functions as a bridge and a catalyst to the development of other literacies. In other words, instead of the traditional method of teaching subjects such as numeracy, language and social skills in separate silos, this MindChamps Music takes an interdisciplinary approach, developing shared fundamental concepts across numerous subjects which leads to greater understanding.

A three-year empirical research study conclusively demonstrated that MindChamps Music enabled students to achieve significant improvements in scores on internationally recognised measures of language literacy (ToPEL) and numeracy (TEMA).

These results have attracted the interest of major universities, including the University of South Australia (UniSA), which has already commenced the next phase of study on the programme.
